Living the Present
0Last Night I was watching the Ellen Show. Ellen was talking about how it's the year of 2007 already and how "2007" sounded very much like the future. Anyways, she talked about how time flies like it was just the first month of 2006 and now its 2007! And as she said it, time does fly especially for older people. She gave a very good example of how kids doesn't realize time, kids don't say anything like "aow! another day has gone by!". In my opinion it is probably because kids know how to enjoy their day - the present, while older people worries so much about the future and dwells so much of the past.
Even before, I knew that we should think about the present and stop worrying but, yesterday it struck me real hard! The idea became clear to me, it's because I've always been worrying about the future that I can't seem to remember a day that I've really enjoyed my present. I asked myself "When exactly was the last time I actually enjoyed my day without having to worry about anything??" "I don't remember" Things after graduation got a lot more complicated. Suddenly you're thrown out to the world not knowing what can happen, where there are so much uncertainties that all you could think about is how to protect yourself and how to compete with others in the "real" world.
A line from the "Last Kiss" Movie, "The world right now is moving so fast that we oftentimes we forget how to feel anymore." - Sad but true.
When was the last time you actually felt enthusiastic and positive about life? When was the last time you said "It's another beautiful day!" and not "another boring day!"? When was actually the last time you used your whole heart to feel?
"The world right now is moving so fast that we oftentimes we forget how to feel anymore"

Hey Jo! Ben here!
ngayon ko lang nabasa yung post mo sa blog ko. Ok yung article mo, I agree with it. Have you seen Crash? It's a movie about prejudice and how we are all interconnected. It served as a wake up call for the American community because of their hectic lives. Us Filipinos are different, but we are still susceptible to the same trappings of a fast paced life. When you're working, the days seem to move so fast - even faster than when you were at school... Anywayz, see you soon! Church tayo ulit minsan!
